We're Fukil - a small, family-run clothing brand from Dublin, Ireland, built around a simple enough idea: that a wee bit of Gaeilge on a shirt can go an awful long way.
We're a father and two sons who love this island, its language and its culture. We're not here to reinvent the wheel (as you can probably tell).
We want to put the Irish language out there and into the world - on the street, in the coffee queue, at the school gate. We want more people using their native language, in all its expressionate beauty, and by getting it into these everyday places we hope to destigmatize any fear people may have by encouraging them to use whatever Irish they've got.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our garments, with honest classic designs - designed to be worn and loved. The language speaks for itself. All printed, pressed and designed in-house in our Dublin workshop.
We think about our environmental impact because we're the ones that have to live with it. We use exclusively organic cotton and recycled polyester garments, print only with water-based inks on recyclable foil and try to make decisions we're proud of. We've been lucky enough to connect with some brilliant people and organisations who share our love of the language and community. We've donated garments to Gaelscoil Nás na Ríogh in Naas, Co. Kildare, to Malin Head Community Centre in Donegal and to FÍS 2026, Conradh na Gaeilge's youth initiative showcasing a bilingual future across education, careers and community.
We do these things because the language thrives when people use it, celebrate it, and pass it on. We're always open to new opportunities to support local communities and the use of Gaeilge - at home and abroad!!!
